As reliable as an international holiday, each fall marks the start of football season in America. Fans and brands alike share the excitement - and those who don't show up, are instantly left behind. This year, SNICKERS wanted to refresh their classic "Rookie Mistakes" campaign, pulling it out of the narrative setting of years past, and giving it a game-day, social and digital friendly twist.
Partnering with agencies Critical Mass and BBDO NY,
yada yada director SAM JONES brought the laughs to life across a series of :06 videos inspired by the player intros on primetime games like Sunday Night Football.
Instead of a football player introducing themselves and saying where they went to college, our NFL super fans introduced themselves... and their rookie mistake 🤷🏼♀️

We created 6x unique spots, each targeting a different type of NFL fan. From those who actively attended games in stadium, to the super-hosts who entertain friends (and their kids) for an at-home watch party; these spots were uniquely targeted based on social media users engagement with the NFL.
