BENEFIT COSMETICS
examples of work

Lisa - it was so lovely to connect last week!  As promised, sharing across a few examples of work...

Knowing you may have an upcoming need for an editor, I've started by pulling a range of editorial styles for your team to review.  Each of the talent on our roster have a unique style to their work, so based on the creative approach for your anticipated deliverables, we can refine reels to feel more in line with what you're looking for.  In the examples below, I leaned into very social-first edits, some showcasing product-forward edits, where others lean a bit more talent-focused.  Overall, these films don't feel "too serious" but also have a degree of polish to them, ensuring quality of product is perceived.  Will be great to understand if any of these standout on your side!

When it comes to examples of creators...I've pulled a couple of options who I think could be great for your October shoot where you may be looking to outsource some content production.  Any of these folks are also happy to work in parallel with your in-house team, should you seek some additional coverage while Tina works her magic behind the camera...

GRACIE KOH

Gracie is one of those people you meet and immediately start to question....how on earth do these incredible humans exist, and how am I lucky enough to know them?
With a background firmly rooted in dance and art, Gracie is our resident choreographer, director, DP, editor, and all around ray of sunshine.

When I consider Lisa's anecdote "BENEFIT is a beauty brand that prides itself on zigging, where other brands zag", I immediately think of Gracie.  I think there is a really beautiful way to infuse dance with the bold and unexpected attitude of Benefit, showing how the brand is comfortable having fun, breaking rules, not putting anyone down, and bringing the benefit social audience along for the ride.

BEN GUGICK

Sticking with the theme of "Benefit zigs, where other beauty brands zag", I wanted to bring Ben Gugick into the mix.  While Ben is certainly not your typical beauty brand creator, he is amongst the most talented on the yada yada roster.  His motto?  "Do more, with less."  He is constantly pushing the boundaries of what we thought was possible in the social space - introducing eye catching VFX elements and editing techniques previously reserved for large-budget productions.

With a small studio setup at home, Ben is able to deliver incredible product videos/stills.  Give him a model and a relatively open ended creative brief - you'll have bold, unexpected, feed stopping social content that truly embodies the Benefit mission.

LENA NICHOLSON

When it comes to beauty brands on social, Lena Nicholson is someone who immediately "gets it".  In conversation with her this weekend about Benefit (and the ways in which yall pride yourselves on differentiating form other beauty brands), I could see her wheels immediately start to spin.

Lena brings a social-first mindset and years of experience across both stills and motion.  Having worked on social campaigns for numerous beauty brands, lifestyle brands, and many other business categories, she is someone who understands content creation and is so quick to adapt to different brand strategies and mission statements.  Lena embodies what it means to have a sense of play/humor in her work, while also delivering final assets that have just the right amount of polish.
